Meet Chantelle, our Physio in the making (work experience kid!)

Chantelle

Hi, I’m Chantelle and I’m a student at Mentone Girls’ Secondary College, currently in year 10. Being in year 10 gave me the opportunity to participate in work experience which allowed me to choose a career path that I may want to pursue in the future. As my area of choice I chose physiotherapy. Physiotherapy interests me because I enjoy learning about the human body and the various functions each component performs. I’ve recently taken up “inside the human body” as an elective which in some ways taught me knowledge that I may need to know as a physiotherapist. I also enjoy helping people, which is a key part of being a physiotherapist. I was given the opportunity to work at InnerStrength of Bayside, this has allowed me to see what it would be like to pursue a career in this field of occupation. Throughout my week here I was able to participate in Pilates classes, observe one on one classes, communicate with patients and help out around the clinic. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely do it again. The experience showed me what it would be like to be a physiotherapist and taught me valuable things that I may be able to use in my future of being a physiotherapist!
