Setting Up Your Workstation by Sings Lakha

Desk ErgonomicsOffice health and safety is of vital importance for anyone working for long periods at a desk. The correct chair and workstation setup prevents injuries and chronic conditions such as neck and back pain.

There are 3 simple ways of setting up your workstation correctly.

1) Your chair needs to be height adjustable with a tilt mechanism, no arm rests and 5 castor wheels. The front edge of the seat needs to be curved for your comfort.

2) Your desk needs to be adjusted so that your work is at elbow height and the desktop screen at arm’s length. The top of the screen should be at eye level.

3) Your keyboard should be flat to avoid any wrist and shoulder pain. Making use of the mouse with either hand is best together with using keyboard short cuts to avoid frequent use of the mouse.
